An invitation...

I invite all readers to share something they did recently out of kindness which may or may not have been noticed by any/all recipients - simply to acknowledge the simple gentle acts of kindness/beauty/gentleness which happen so regularly in our lives, and to open our eyes to opportunities as well...

- I placed my partner's favourite cup on top of a teetering pile of dishes in the drying rack so he had quick access and wouldn't feel obligated to put all the dishes away.

- Someone placed some lilac flowers on top of a dying bush.

Every day in every way my life is that of Sesame Street. Random acts of kindness is the name of the game and I am a key player. And the best part of playing this game is that every one wins.

Although I am conflicted by your question for a part of me feels that to share will take away from these acts, but at the same time perhaps sharing them will create greater "Situational Awareness" for each and every one of us.

This week to name a couple...

1. If I find my self in a chicken fight whilst walking down the street where one veers to the left and to the right, to the left and the right again to avoid a collision with some one. I bow down and thank them for the dance.

2. After using a paper towel dispenser in a public washroom I make sure I leave a new square or two ready for the next user.

3. I may or may not have sent restaurant packages of condiments to a friend in the mail.

I can tell you a million and one examples of acts of kindness that have gone unnoticed towards my son and husband....but with strangers...here's a few that i can think of off the top of my head:

~Over the winter I worked as a Janitor and was astounded as to how fucking SORRY people are all the Time...Me: sweeping/mopping the floor, mindin m'buidness..... Stranger: walks by or On such floor being cleaned....ohhhSORRY they say... Me: DOn't BE SORRY I say THIS is MY MISSION these Days....telling people to NOT be Sorry...especially to those who walk past me and say sorry for no reason. I can understand their need to be polite (i can appreciate good manners etc...) but C'MON people....stop being so SORRY....***keep your Eyes 'n' Ears open to this....SORRY is Everywhere!***

~This one could be considered a "tough love act of kindness".... I absolutely DETEST people who litter. If I happen to witness an Unkind act to our Mother Earth such as littering...here's what I do:
ME: spots the lazy MoFo throw garbage down, I pick the shit up, and catch up to them...With a Friendly smile on my Face i say " Excuse Me! You seemed to have dropped this!!"
THEM: (I've experienced a few different reactions)
Usually they are flustered & embarrassed for being caught in the act apologizing...As I point in the Direction of the Public garbage can, saying thank you & have a beautiful day...this usually happens...
But I've had a few people who've been really offended or sarcastic towards me...even a few public arguments...in which case, I try to teach my son how to have "kind words" even when "unkind" words are being said in return....my SON: "You know what!?!...That Hurts the Earth !!" :)
